Fall Festivities

On Sunday, Aaron and I gathered with church members in the park to have a "sports day." We played soccer, foot-volleyball, and badminton. We even had an egg race!
Sorry there's no video, I was in every game. It really would have been great to show you the Koreans playing soccer and foot-volleyball. They were all so competitive, and took it so seriously, I felt way out of my league! At one point, I took a soccer ball to the stomach full on, knocking the wind out of me. Whoa.

This is how Aaron began sports day. He was pretty tired from not sleeping well the night before.

Jaeso saw him lying there and made him get up so they could throw the football around.

This is Jaeso with Marius. Marius is from South Africa, and preaches at Hanbit about three times a month. He isn't dressed for playing sports because he had to leave early to catch his bus. I think I could sense his disappointment when he found out about the egg race :). Jaeso is a young Hanbit member, and speaks English very well.

Here we are with a few of our fellow expats and Habit members.

Here are a few pics just to show you all how beautiful the trees are here. Some of them are bearing the strangest fruit right now. There's one tree that is dropping ginko fruit. It smells pretty bad once it's been smashed all over the sidewalks, but people (okay, mostly ajummas) are "harvesting" it for the ginko inside.

Well, that's it for now. We're going up to Seoul this weekend, so stay tuned for an excellent post on the DMZ, and maybe even some pictures of North Korea!! Ah-sa! (Yess!!:)
